i've been feeling so unmotivated of late...not a good sign since i haven't even finished my first year of the phd program yet. the next five+ years might be very very long...
went to a superbowl party at s' house but spent most of it playing scrabble with jenny and cosmo. munched on snackies here and there, although i was mostly not hungry due to a late and greasy dimsum lunch in inner richmond ($5.30 for 2 people, you can't beat that).
if you remember, a few years ago, jcruelty and i used to live in that 'hood. going back today made me nostalgic. i miss that area because of all the cheap asian foods although i most definitely do NOT miss the crazy mass of rude chinese people that frequent the grocery stores there on the weekends. it also saddened me a little to see that a lot of cafes/restaurants/shops i remember have been replaced, even some of the places i never thought would go out of business (e.g. this mediterranean place with the belly dancing, the used furniture store busvan for bargains, etc). i was happy to see that blue danube (a cute little cafe), toy boat (a cute dessert place), burma super star are still around.
do i want to move back to the city? or stay in berkeley? tough call.
