my new room is full of boxes. boxes boxes everywhere. it's overflowing with boxes. a cornucopia of boxes, if you will. but slowly, one box at a time, i'm breaking them down.
my room is a lot smaller than my old studio and i feel like i own too much stuff. why do i consume so much?? i already have three big boxes (all crate-n-barrel boxes but NOT all filled w/ crate-n-barrel stuff) of kitchen stuff that will remain in storage until the day comes when i live alone again. goodbye, square dishes! goodbye, cute toaster!
the commute to work is so much shorter. i wake up an hour later than when i lived in berkeley but i still get to work earlier than before. until i get a parking permit for my neighborhood, i have to drive to work...all 5 min of it. i feel silly and a bit LA. but on my way into work this morning, i spotted a cute graffiti on the side of a warehouse that has always intrigued me.
the warehouse has a single red door with japanese characters written on it. with the little japanese i know, i can make out that it's some sort of recording studio....maybe? very mysterious
