katrina and then rita. what is up with the world??
my parents are stuck in houston. they tried to get out of town this morning to go towards san antonio and get more inland, but then they found out some friends of theirs from sugarland have been stuck on the roads trying to get on I-10. and this is not just normal 'stuck in traffic'...they've been trying to get to the freeway since NINE PM LAST NIGHT. i just cannot even fathom traffic so bad you're stuck for so long. in the end, they gave up and went back home to shelter and hope for the best. so my parents are also hiding in their apt and hoping for the best.
on top of it all, gas stations are running out of gas, leading to cars running out of gas while stuck in traffic and not being able to refuel, leading to more stopped cars on the roads, leading to further traffic. it's a positive feedback loop gone mad.
