it's weird for me to be using a new journal system after ~4 years on diaryland, which has served me well. but jcruelty has convinced me and you know, i am excited for the exporting feature so i can keep a copy of my journal entries for myself. but i think at least for a while, i may continue to cross-post to dland. i mean, it's just copy-n-paste...
today feels like a lazy day although i really need it to not be one. over this weekend, i have to take a 5-hour midterm on statistical thermodynamics, grade a bunch of perl assignments from the kids i teach, finish a couple of fellowship essays, etc etc... but the weekend started out quite nicely already. i met up with jcruelty, liska, and mattb a friend from rice for an hour hanging out in the sun in dolores park, watching the 4th annual bocce tournament. tonight, planning on a 15% off sushi dinner w/ t in the sunset. mmm.
there was a rerun of friends the other day that cracked me up (again - i've seen it before). ross was being his usual annoying self and trying to lecture the girls on the importance of 'unagi', which he claims is a state of mind in karate to be able to fend off opponents. (the girls were taking a self-defense class) he kept pointing to his head, nodding significantly, and saying 'unagi' sagely. of course, the girls kept saying that they think unagi is eel sushi. and then later on in the show, when the girls successfully fend off his attack, rachel pointed at her head, nodded significantly, and said 'ahhhh salmon skin roll'. man, that killed me.
i am lame.
